Herman Cain: A Candle in the Wind

Herman Cain just brought his campaign to an end and at his announcement of it, he quoted the Pokemon: The Movie 2000 song "The Power of One". Why are people grilling poor Herman Cain over this. How many people have quoted Dr. Seuss or Charlie Brown? Pokemon has taught my generation a lot of things, like how to catch 'em all, or that cats can actually train themselves to talk. So, in tribute to a man who is one in a million, I give this rendition of my version of the song "Candle in the Wind", by Sir Elton John:

Goodbye Herman Cain,
Though I never knew you at all,
You were the only other reasonable candidate
next to Ron Paul.
You created the 999 plan.
And you were at your height.
Then they spread rumors of sexual harassment.
And your affair with Ginger White.

And it seems to me that your campaign
Was a candle in the wind.
Now you have to bring it to a halt
Because of all those women.
And I would have liked to vote for you
 But I'm not a Republican.
Your candle burned out long before,
Your campaign came to an end.

RIP Herman Cain's Campaign: 2011-2011

Peace is Here: If You Want It

After listening to John Lennon's Happy Xmas (War is Over) and after hearing the lyrics, "War is over if you want it", I cannot help but agree with those lyrics. War truly is over if you want it, because war is not just the War in Afghanistan or the protests in Syria, were people are being murdered by their own government, it is the very anger and prejudice towards others in our hearts. So let us get ride of the anger and prejudice in ourselves so that we can end WAR.

This Christmas I do not care what I get or what I am getting others. All that I care about this Christmas is what the day was created for, and that is to remember why Jesus came into this world. He did not come to make us all feel good about ourselves. On the contrary, he came to open the eyes of those whom have a lot to look towards those whom have nothing.

Let us remember this Christmas that there are people who will go hungry, be raped, suffer from some illness, be alone, die from disease, famine, or violence, and most importantly go without the love of anyone.

War is Over: If You want it, and PEACE IS HERE: IF YOU WANT IT.Amen

Thou Does Protest

This year has been the year of protesting. The Arab spring in the Middle East and Northeast Africa and now the protest on Wall Street. It makes me wonder what I should be doing and how can I help in the protesting of the world. Maybe I can join in the Wall Street protest or maybe I can start a protest against something else. Being a Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, and Joan Baez lover, protesting is deeply rooted in my soul. I look back to the 60s and maybe they weren't the most moral people, but they weren't afraid to stand up for their beliefs. I want to model their bravery. I want to stand up for what is right.

I want to stand up against the big businesses running our country. I want to stand up for the illegal immigrants who are treated like they are some horrible criminals. I want to stand up for the people who have no voice in this world. I want to be a Bob Dylan or a Martin Luther King Jr. I want to stand with the people who are standing against whatever negative thing that may be suppressing others. Here is my protest, "It's Time to Stand Up and Do What is Right" harmonica C range. I just have to work out the kinks. Am I the next Bob Dylan? AMEN to that!!!!

Penn State: What I Think, or Don't Think

I will once again steer from my usual format of my blog. This week I want to address the Penn State sex scandal. Most people have been giving their opinions on the Penn State sex scandal and what should and should not happen. However, I don't care to put in my two cents. All I care about are the victims. Who cares about the president of the school, the athletic director, or the coaches? Those men are old and had their careers already. They already had full lives full of many good memories, I'm sure. But the same cannot be said for the victims of this horrible tragedy.

The victims of this whole Penn State ordeal will always be affect by what Jerry Sandusky did. As a Christian Catholic I cannot just call him a monster like some many do. I want no man to die in sin, nor do I want any man to burn in Hell. I hope he repents for what he done, and asking forgiveness, true forgiveness,  is a personal thing. It does not matter how many times he apologizes, unless he truly feels sorry for what he has done, there will be no salvation for him.

Everyone involved in this Penn State scandal do not need any more hate thrown towards them. We should instead pray for them all. We should especially pray for the victims, whom have to live with what happened to them for the rest of their lives. Let us also pray for the men who covered up this horrible scandal, and Jerry Sandusky, no not because they deserve it, but because it is the right thing to do. We do not need to worry about judging this situation, that must be left up to the courts and most importantly, GOD. So, lets forget about pointing fingers and blaming, and let's start instead praying and trying to heal the hearts of those who were taking advantage of, because they sure could use our support and LOVE.

My Who's Who List

After getting a revelation from the woman I dressed up as for Halloween, Dian Fossey, reviewing the list of Forbes list of the World's most powerful people of 2011, and partly due to my want to copy the Beatles' awesome collage of influences on their great album Sgt. LEGO MY IMMIGRANTO

Yahoo! News reported the washing up of a 8-foot-tall Lego man on a Florida beach. The Lego figure was reported as trying to make money for his Lego family in Lego land by coming here to America. The INS has taken the Lego man captive and will deport him sometime this week. Outrage exists on both sides of the political spectrum. Liberals called for the Lego man to be let go and allowed to stay in our country. Conservatives quickly asked for the immediate deportation of the Lego man back to Lego land.

This issue comes during a time of deep immigration issues in America. Many Americans feel that too many Lego people are coming to our country and taking our jobs. President Obama has yet to face the issue of the illegal immigration, but the issue will surely be a major focus in the next election. Many feel that a wall made of LEGO blocks should be built on the boarder to stop the illegal Lego immigrants from coming into our country. Well God tells us not to oppress the widows, orphans, and aliens. By us oppressing the Lego immigrants we are breaking that commandment. Is it unholy for us to keep Lego immigrants from coming in our country? To that I say "AMEN".

World Series Episode II: Return of the Rangers

I know that there are so many more important things to blog about than sports, but I can't help but write my blog this week about the Texas Rangers. Last year, I supported my first ever MLB team in the playoffs, and that team was the Texas Rangers. I supported them through the exciting battle against the New York Yankees. I supported them in the World Series against the San Francisco Giants. However, I never thought that the very team I supported last year would do the same thing again.

I couldn't help but support the Rangers again against the Detroit Lions. Now that they are back in the World Series, whether they win or lose, the Rangers forever have my support. I know that this is the Rangers' year, and when they win the World Series, that will be the highlight of my year. God gave the Israelites a second chance when they sinned against him in the desert and allowed them to go to the Promised Land. Now God gives the Rangers a second chance at the Promised Land. Do I think that divine intervention is in play with the Rangers making it back to the World Series. To that I say, "AMEN". GO RANGERS!!!
